Therapy for Polyamorous, CNM, Kink

INDIVIDUALS & COUPLES

There is no right or wrong way to have relationships.

Are you starting to explore non-monogamy or kink, but are not sure where to start? Are you already open, but struggling with unexpected feelings or boundary setting? Are you having difficulty navigating different needs and feeling overwhelmed? Are you having relationship issues like conflicts about parenting, housework, or lack of romance? Regardless of your relationship structure, communication and connection are key. If you are struggling with your current relationships, even if it’s not about being poly or kinky, it is important to address issues as soon as possible.

Like all intimate relationships, open relationships can be both rewarding and challenging, but can also be more complicated. Adding people, changing boundaries, and navigating multiple needs can require more effort and awareness to manage effectively.

It is important to learn to communicate with our partners, set appropriate boundaries, and identify our own and other’s needs. Therapy can bring conscious awareness to these dynamics and gives you a choice in how you deal with issues individually and together.

You can build the relationships you need to feel satisfied.

INDIVIDUAL & COUPLES THERAPY FOR POLY/KINK

Poly, open, or kink relationship concerns may be the focus of therapy, or they may not be the issue at all. Regardless, I believe that therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space to to discuss whatever is on your mind and work on your relationships, whatever they look like.

In our sessions together, you can expect to be fully honored, respected, and valued. My priority is to ensure your comfort and provide you with a place where you can reclaim the strength and confidence needed to live your very best life.

This starts with identifying your needs and wants. Through therapy, you (and your partners) will be able to gain insight into your needs and wants, communication and connection styles, and clarify boundaries. My role is to guide the conversation and give space for you to express concerns, gain understanding, and enhance connection.

Therapy for Polyamory, CNM, and Kink can help you:

  • Explore opening up a relationship or kink

  • Identify relationship boundaries and expectations

  • Develop connection and secure attachment

  • Process issues of infidelity, boundary violations, and heal resentment

  • Learn to communicate and resolve conflicts

  • Practice setting boundaries

The relationship you desire is in reach.

I’M HERE TO SUPPORT YOU IN ACHIEVING IT.

FAQS

Common questions about therapy for poly/kink relationships

  • The most important factor in determining therapy effectiveness is the therapeutic relationship and your own motivation for change. Regardless of your relationship structure, couple’s counseling can be an effective way to improve communication and connection.

  • I am not a part of the community and I don’t identify as polyamorous. I have taken the time to inform myself about the communities I serve so that I can be an effective therapist for these relationships. I understand that it may be important for you to work with someone that has lived experience, so I am open about my limitations in that area.

  • Although it is often called “couples counseling”, there is no limitation on how many people we can have in session as long as everyone is consenting to participate. We can include other people in the relationship dynamic into sessions as long as it’s clinically appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
